About

Reggae, dancehall and other music related fun.

One of the things I am most proud of is King Jammy’s, an amazing book by Beth Lesser. Though I’d always loved the music, it was my first in-depth introduction to dancehall culture way back in 1999. I was the acquisition editor and did all the production on the book at ECW Press. It was a photocopied book published in Finland that we turned into something that I personally think is gorgeous.  Buy a copy. And buy any other books by Beth that you can get your hands on.

Now I live in Kingston, Jamaica and I’m working on the finishing touches of my book Ethiopians and Rastafari in the Promised Land (forthcoming from NYU Press).
