Wyclef and Mavado dubplate for Haiti

Wyclef is fantastic and Mavado’s plaintive style is, frankly, goosebump inducing in this tune. An example of how meaningful a dubplate can be. Change a word or two and the song takes on a whole new meaning. Here’s the original, released in the fall of 2009. The video was to be released with Wyclef’s album in February of this year, but I think they chose well to match the dub to the video-with a few changes, just like the tune. So well done.
